Visit the Blue Idol Quaker Meeting House from your own home!
During the coronavirus pandemic we have unfortunately been unable to welcome visitors on our regular open days. As a way to invite people to visit us we had a ‘virtual visit’ on June 5th, with around 60 people attending on Zoom.
The recording of this virtual visit can watched below or by clicking on this link, where you can also find the short video clips of the garden and inside the meeting house.
The full tour includes photographs and videos alongside the story of the Blue Idol from the original farmhouse to today.
This if offered free to everyone. If you have enjoyed this visit, please do consider gifting us donation. A portion of our income comes from visitors and groups visits and all donations are much appreciated.
A film entitled ‘The Restoration of the Blue Idol ‘ is available for private viewing on request. The video follows the story of the restoration project (2012 – 2015) and includes interviews with those involved through the process, from Quakers at the Blue Idol to the contractors. It is not simply about the restoration of a building, but of the human experience the whole meeting went through.
Our garden is open to visitors everyday to come enjoy the peaceful space. You are also welcome to bring a book or a picnic and spend a bit more time here.
